Data

What is Canopy's price data source?

Our main pricing source is Bloomberg. Prices are updated with end-of-day prices for the previous day. For private instruments such as private funds or structured derivatives issued by your bank, public pricing data is often not available. In such cases, we take the latest price from statements provided by you.

How often is the data updated?

Your data is updated whenever we get fresh information. If all we are getting from you is monthly statements, then your data is updated monthly. In case your bank or broker provides daily data feed in any format – including Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) or SWIFT or secure email – Canopy will be updated daily. You can always update any intra-months movements in Engine.

How do I anonymize my data before uploading it?

You can use Canopy’s inbuilt custom PDF Anonymizer tool to remove Personally Identifiable Information (PII) before uploading your data into Canopy. More information on this topic is available here.

Is there an easy way to manually upload multiple transactions in Engine?

Where is this database located? Who all have access to it?

This database is located in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud in Singapore. We create a separate database for each customer and only that customer has access to it. This data can only be access from computers that have been specifically authorized to access it.

Can I create my own tables in this database?

This database contains only your data and you have full access rights to it. You can choose to add new tables, run queries or do any other analysis that you would like to do

Can I do something to damage the data?

The database contains a set of tables that are managed by Canopy. These tables are synced once a day to our main database.
